Reasons Why You're Dealing with Jumpers Knee
What are my chances of returning to pickleball or basketball after an initial shoulder dislocation on my dominant arm if no surgery? I'm in my 30s and this is my first and only dislocation so far.
What about for the inside?
I'm hypermobile and I've read that you should avoid using hamstring graft because of this. The result? I re tore it twice + noticeable weakness of my left hamstring vs right even after 6 years. Even though both hamstrings are now affected.
Hi, thanks for sharing your story and sorry to hear. How is your level of function nowadays?
@@TheBasketballDoctors did not have 2nd revision yet. Still playing but with limited movements only. I feel bad inside the court, I'm just lucky because I am tall
Is this the guy in the video’s voice? 😂
How old are u
Hello, I’ve had a history of posterior tibial tendon dysfunction and many ankle sprains. I injured my ankle back in March and after treating it like a sprain, my pain persisted, so I assumed it was an Achilles tendon issue. I went through the whole rehab process of isometrics, slow eccentrics, and now I can confidently perform pluometris, but the one issue that has kept recurring is my ankles dorsiflexion range of motion. It has really impacted my squat and deadlift, and it is unlike my other ankle. It is painful to push my knee over my toe, and it feels much more stiff than my other ankle, which can go way over my toe. I am lost on what I can do, as standard rehab protocol has not helped with the range of motion. I would greatly appreciate any words of advice. Thank you for all you do
Is tendonosis a form of tendinitis or tendinothpy
Both tendinosis and tendinitis is a form of tendinopathy. Tendinopathy is the umbrella term for tendon pain, and tendinosis and tendinitis are specific type of tendon pain
Sadly, I have osgood scatter disease and I only just turned 10. I did an ultrasound scan, an MRI and an x-ray. It really hurts and I feel so weak. What should I do?

@@SigmaBSKThank you but I still feel a lot of pain when exercising. Should I still do it?
I have got it on both legs.
Hey, thanks for sharing your story and sorry to hear. I had OSD in both my knees in high school and it was painful. There are exercises and other modification you can do to get stronger and maintain as much function as possible. We have a good amount of videos on our channel discussing OSD, and we also have an online OSD management program on our website if you guys are interested in a more guided program.
Ever tried MonkeyFeet before?! Shoot us a dm we’d love to send one out to your clinic 💪
That's not true. Just ask an expert, knees over toes guy. It's healthy for the joint. Look at Tom platz leg workout. And many more. Atg baby.
Does a subluxation need to occur for there to be damage or injury to the labrum?
Hi, great question. No, not necessarily. There could be degeneration/overuse, or usually requires some type of an acute traumatic event for an injury to occur at the labrum
Im a 34 yr old male. Playing basketball i tore my acl and a bucket handle tear in my medial meniscus. Getting surgery the 11th of this month. Im active run often nothing more then a couple miles at a time, go to gym religiously, snowboard, play basketball, beach volleyball, soccer, flag football still recreationally, and my main sport is golf where i play at a pretty high level semi pro. I practice golf about 4-5 times a week whether it be hitting a few large buckets or just working on other parts of my game. I tore all this in my left knee (im righty so i pivot on my now injured left knee). My question is graph choice i first spoke to my surgeon and he recommended patellar tendon graph which im okay with since its the gold standard and strongest but im not a big fan of the knee pain everyone expresses they feel throughout their daily lives years past theyve recovered. So as of now i told him i would prefer to get an allograph (cadaver achillies) since it would keep my patellar in tact. I just dont know if with my life style the allograph will hold up. And also the chance of my body rejecting the allograph. Its a hard decision because yes im in my mid 30s but still feel quite youthful. Just asking for a suggestion or your thoughts on which graft you think would be best to get. Sorry for the long question just trying to paint the whole picture. Any answer helps thanks so much in advace!🙏
Hey, thanks for sharing and it's a great question and a tough/important decision. You seem very active, especially with pivoting/cutting and landing sports (basketball, golf, volleyball, soccer and flag football), so a strong autograft like the patellar and quad (potentially less anterior knee pain) tendon may suit your lifestyle better. An allograft is def a potential option for you to allow for a less painful and slightly "quicker" recovery, but with your activity level and risk of rejection may not be worth it. If I was in your position, those would be the grafts I would consider the most. Hope that helps a little bit! Keep us updated!
That's not a deadlift, it's a Romanian Deadlift. 😂
I'VE JUST STARTED CUPPING. THANKS FOR THE VIDEO BECAUSE MY KNEE IS KILLING ME.
wtf is going on in this video too much going on
Waaaay to fast and lacking proper descriptions
Clear as mud Ffs
Tore my acl 8 months ago. Had surgery 5 months ago. Thanks for this lol
Improve capacity by strengthening quads. Early on wallsits double then single leg. Early on don't want to put too much stress on the joint. Deeper then 90 degrees is when your loading the patellarfemoral joint alot. Every week go lower and lower till at 90 degrees. Start high then slowly work lower. Pretend your pushing the floor away from you. Push down and away. Should feel the quad working. Hold position for 30-45 seconds. Once at 45 seconds you should progress. Every other day go lower and lower. Sweetspot 30 and 45 degrees. Start right away to activate the quads. Improves capacity of the joint itself in a comfortable position.
I have medial Meniscus tear grade 2 i have no locking and no heavy pain but when i climb stairs i have pain , what shoul i do
I get stiffness and super minor locking trying to figure out wtf to do very frustrating
But I did tear the front of the inside of my leg I've been taking glucosamine and collagen I'm looking for any help to get this to heal
Best treatments to subside the pain? It hurts to fully bend the knee and walking sucks if there’s something I can do to alleviate Some of this I’m all ears
Which heel?
I successfully done this mistake 😢 and trying to straight knee after 7 months of surgery
This has happened to both of my knees on multiple occasions, I can’t do any sports without it going out. I even tried physio but that didn’t work. I’m kinda just living with it and just accepting the fact that it’s going to keep happening.
BRO WHY IS EVERYONES KNEE DISLOCATION FROM SKATING MINE WAS FROM SLIPPING IN THE KITCHEN
I just dislocated but it was back in place in second how long till the swollen pain gone
This experience is very terrifying 💀💀. The pain is worst. Im going through this right now 😭. It will always be my traumatic experience.
does it also cause medial joint line pain?
Do you recommend this exercise for someone with a total knee replacement?
I am a kickboxer age 21 and I had a acl surgery 6 months ago bio screw or disolving screw surgery but I don't feel comfortable. So what is the best surgery for me I have flexible body my knee go backward more than normal peoples. Can u recommend me best surgery
How about not putting text in front of what you are trying to show us hahahah
I feel like there's injuries missing that I'm not seeing. 1) Jalen Rose deliberately spraining Kobe's ankle, only for him to return and dominate them in OT in the Finals. 2) The several injuries in his shooting hand, and shot through it the entire playoffs to win the championship. I wanna say that was against Orlando. 3) Masked Mamba revenge game where he destroyed D. Wade for breaking his nose, and LeBron caught a stray. 4) Hitting 2 FT's and walks off the court with an achilles injury without any help. I can go on and on. This is why I love and admire Kobe and David Goggins. Absolute and utter relentlessness.
I had oscar shlotters when i was 12 and im 14 im only 5'7 can i still grow in height ? The pain in knee have gotten away like 1 year ago
I've been incapacitated, mostly sedentary. I want to go back on pain meds for awhile, and rehab myself. I would like an overall plan.
Sorry to hear. We have an online Achilles tendon rehab program that may be beneficial for you if you're dealing with something like this: thebasketballdoctors.com/achilles-tendon-rehab-program/
Yo I hurt my ankle playing🏀n it went the other way is pose 2 n ye Ive been on recovery bro this works bru thank u
Glad it was helpful, hope for a speedy recovery for you
@@TheBasketballDoctors thank u brodie it healed I'm still using these but thank u still bru
How do you usually progress the wall sits?
Hey great question. There are numerous ways. Increase time, adding weight on the thighs or holding weights, manipulating how much weight is on one leg, progressing to single leg.
I have much pain but is it not contra productive to jump on the bad leg?
You should likely be doing other exercises before doing these low intensity plyometrics if you're having a lot of pain still
Can I use BFR for my acl tore . I told both my ACLs three months ago on a ski accident. I purchased Kaatsu BFR . Would be our help me heal faster?. I am choosing not to do a seal repair surgery. I would appreciate a reply.
Hey, thanks for sharing and great question. We haven't personally used the Kaatsu BFR, but we use BFR all the time for post-op rehab, especially. Great tool to improve muscle contraction, muscle hypertrophy, and other cellular benefits with out putting excessive load on the knee
I had surgery and currently cant bend my knee more than 35 degrees
How recent was it? Keep working on it and if you feel stuck, speak with your rehab specialist and/or surgeon to figure out what's going on
@@TheBasketballDoctors i had my acl and meniscus repair on may 28th. Currently progressing my knee on 45-50 degrees bending. My knee felt really tight and pain when trying to flex my knee hufd
I feel pain in the center of my knee. The pain comeback when I play soccer again.
Sorry to hear, hope you're on a rehab program and a speedy recovery to meet your goals!
If your meniscus is torn do not get surgery youll be fine
I wish I could do any of this...
Keep working, there are exercises that you can do to build up to doing these exercises
Would the sprain be visible in MRI?
Yes, majority of the times it will
thanks
How about people who didnt get surgery ? Will the exercise work?
What should I do if I have both i am 26
Sorry to hear. At your age, you're likely dealing with Jumpers knee or PFPS. We have longer form videos on our channel discussing both that would be beneficial for you; we go into more detail of it and some rehab. We have an online Jumpers' Knee rehab program as well
@@TheBasketballDoctors i have jumpers knee pain, but i also have osgood, i confirmed it with xray, there is no pain in tibial tuberosity only tenderness on tibial tuberosity, so i am not able to kneel on my legs
Bent knee calf raises aka Michael Jackson hee hee’s
Hahah
I have persistent hams weakness from that graft which lead me to revision & maybe my revision has failed too because of this weakness. Biggest mistake of my life. Some people will regenerate but if it don't you're screwed. Sh*t sucks big time.
Hey, sorry to hear..Happen unfortunately. Hope you're doing well, much stronger, and back to doing what you want to do!
Sir, can I do this exercise if I had both meniscus and acl(auto graft) repair surgery and fourth week after the surgery? I am little scared it could be bad for meniscus
Hi, good question. You should not be doing this 4 weeks after your surgery. This is late stage rehab/several months down the line.
